A New Chapter for Our Store

Dear Friends,

After 41 wonderful years at 3963 N. 6th Street, we’re excited to announce that Abrams & Weakley will be relocating to our new home at 3712 N. 6th Street in Harrisburg. We don’t plan to close and will open at the new location on November 2nd. We will still be in Susquehanna Township and just as easy to access!

Why are we moving? 

After decades of renting, the opportunity came to buy a “fixer-upper” a few blocks away. It was a risk because the place was a huge mess! EVERYTHING needed to be torn out and replaced. There have been several obstacles out of our control over the past year, but the end is finally in sight.

Longtime residents remember 3712 N 6th Street as a furniture store, and more recently a notary/second-hand shop. After years of neglect, we’re proud to give this building new life and purpose while preserving a piece of neighborhood history.

Communities stay strong when businesses and residents are willing to invest in them. So, moving out of our neighborhood wasn’t really an option. Because we live and work here, watching buildings fall into disrepair is sad. And, that image implies that we don’t care how our town looks.

While our address is changing, everything else about us stays the same: our commitment to serving this community with the personal care, friendly service, competitive pricing and hometown atmosphere that have defined our business for over four decades.

We’re incredibly grateful for the support you’ve shown us over the years, and we can’t wait to welcome you into our new home. Thank you for being part of our journey — and for helping us continue to invest in the neighborhood we love.
